Prep Players to put on performance of Aristophanes' 'The Birds'

The Prep Players theatre group is pleased to present Aristophanes' "The Birds" as its fall production this year.

"The Birds" follows two men who abandon society and seek out a life with the birds, in the hopes it will be free of frauds the on earth who are always wasting their time. Once they get there, it dawns on them that they could create a new society in the sky, Cloud Cuckoo Land, free from everything they despised at home.

The play is a humorous production written hundreds of years the birth of Christ, and yet shows how little has changed about human nature since the play's origins.

"The Birds" runs in the Black Box Theatre at the Quick Center on November 7, 8, and 9. The show begins at 8 p.m. each evening and runs about 2 hours with an intermission.

Tickets can be ordered by calling the box office at 203-254-4010.
