Prep Music Ensembles Perform in Orlando!

Where The Magic and Music Come True - Prep's Trip to Orlando, Florida

On Easter Monday morning, April 26, 2022, 44 musicians in Prep's music program, Music Director Mr. Daniel Horstmann, and chaperones boarded a bus for the magical and musical trip to Orlando, Florida. Next morning, 1,150 miles later, the group arrived at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, and embraced its magic and wait lines, ending the day with the spectacular Disney Enchantment’s enhanced lighting and fireworks show. The next day, Prep took part in  Disney’s Performing Arts Workshop, where they not only practiced and improved their technical skills, but also created the soundtrack for some scenes from the Aladdin movie. The excitement continued later on in Hollywood Studios where some took off to the galaxy far, far away, while others got horrified in the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror.

Next, the travelers spent two days exploring Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to the head-spinning coasters, Prepsters enjoyed days filled with fun and thrills. On the last day of the trip, Prep’s Orchestra, Band and Choir performed at CityWalk Lagoon Stage. The performers rose to the occasion and the music showcase was spectacular. Special thanks to Mr. Horstmann for making the magic happen this year! Some Prep families joined as audience members on the trip. Bravo to all of Prep's music ensembles for their standout performances and how they represented Fairfield Prep well.

The group enjoyed a farewell dinner at Hard Rock Café, then some last evening rides, and departed for home to arrive 24 hours later to Prep on Saturday night. The Prep Music Department plans to go on tour every other year to allow students an opportunity to learn and perform on stages across the country.
