Fairfield Prep welcomes new Faculty & Staff
Ronald DeRosa
Fairfield Prep welcomes a number of new faces for the 2019-20 academic year. The school year kicks off with a number of new teachers, staff and administrators.
 

Rob Cottle

Rob is Prep’s new Vice President for Advancement. Rob was managing partner of Centennial Consulting Group, LLC. Prior to that, he was Vice President for Advancement at University of Bridgeport, Assistant VP for Development at Fairfield University, and Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving at Sacred Heart University. Rob has a B.S. in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University.

Brendan Coffey, S.J.

Mr. Coffey is a Jesuit Regent, which is that stage of formation generally between philosophy and theology studies when Jesuits often teach in schools for 2-3 years.

Brendan’s Jesuit roots run deep, even before entering the Society of Jesus, having graduated from St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia. He has a Bachelor of Arts, double major in English and Philosophy, from Fordham University, as well as a Masters in Philosophy in Irish Writing from Trinity College Dublin. He comes to us from Fordham University, where he recently completed a M.A. in Catholic Theology. Brendan will teach Theology.

Jessica Lombardi

Jessica graduated from Columbia University, Teachers College with a M.A. in English Education with a 4.0 GPA. Prior to that, she received a Bachelor of Arts with an English major and a Sociology minor from Georgetown University, where she was Phi Betta Kappa and President of Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit honor society). She also participated in Georgetown’s summer reading and writing program in Fiesole, Italy. Jessica has taught at various schools in Connecticut, Washington, DC and New York City. Jessica will teach English.  

Ruben Goodwin

Ruben arrives with extensive leadership experience at Wakeman Boys & Girls Club, where he worked most recently as Senior Program Director. His network of relations with local community agencies and schools will be a tremendous asset for Prep. He has an Associate of Science degree in business from Housatonic Community College and a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Fairfield University. Ruben is our Director of Diversity. 

Caleb Jackson

Caleb graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics and a history minor. He has worked as a research assistant for the UMaine Physics & Astronomy Department, as well as a summer intern at the US Coast Guard Academy. During his time at UMaine, he was also a member of the men’s rugby team. Caleb is originally from New London, CT and will teach Physics.

Ashley Woodworth

Ashley comes to Prep from St. Thomas Aquinas School in Fairfield, where she has been a 6th-8th grade Social Studies teacher. Prior to that, she taught English at St. Rose of Lima School in Newtown. She has a Bachelor of Arts and Science in History and Secondary Education from Salve Regina University, as well as a MA in Teaching and Foundations with a concentration in Curriculum Studies. Ashley is our Director of Christian Service.

Maura Carey

Maura received a Bachelor of Arts in French from Providence, where she was also in the French National Honor Society. Since graduation, she has worked at Americares, rising to the position of Associate Director of Donor Relations. She joins our Development Office as Coordinator of Data and Gift Processing.

Robin Smith

Robin has a B.A. in Business Administration from Sacred Heart University, and has worked as Executive Administrative Assistant at St. Vincent’s Medical Center, Smilow Cancer Hospital, and Family Services of Connecticut. Robin will play a pivotal role for Prep as Operations Assistant.

Brian Remigio

Brian is Prep’s new Director of Technology, a position he began in January 2019. He is a graduate of Fairfield University, where he earned a BA in Psychology and a MS in Management of Technology.

Brian previously worked at the University as Director of User Support Services – ITS, Project Manager/Coordinator, Macintosh Server Administrator, Desktop Technician, as well as an adjunct Instructor of classes in the Graphic Design Certificate Program. Most recently, Brian worked at Clarity Software in Madison as an Associate Sales Engineer.

Carlos Mesquita

Carlos has a BS and MS in Software Engineering from Fairfield University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude, along with minors in Mathematics and Religious Studies. He has worked at Fairfield University as Security Engineer and Help Desk Manager, as well as Project Manager / Lead Developer of The Weather Company, an IBM Business.

Carlos has also been very active in Fairfield University’s Campus Ministry programs. He speaks Portuguese and Spanish fluently. Carlos joined the Fairfield Prep staff in May 2019 as a Computer Programming teacher and IT Help Desk support.
