Fairfield Prep seniors awarded full scholarships to Fairfield U.

Richard Herrera and Joseph Queenan, seniors in the Fairfield Prep Class of 2023, are both recipients of a full scholarship to Fairfield University through The Company Scholars program.

The Company Scholars is a unique cohort-based scholarship program that offers full tuition grants to low-income students attending Jesuit and high schools. In addition to meeting the full financial need of each selected student, inclusive of room and board, The Company Scholars’ unique cohort model allows the University to connect participants with faculty mentors, academic and career advisors, and study abroad and research opportunities in the ‘company’ of a supportive peer group.

"Students selected to participate in the program become part of an elite group, or company, of diverse individuals who are engaged in academic excellence and equipped with a supportive network and a platform to make a difference in their community," according to the university.

Richard and Joseph were recognized for their achievement during a ceremony at Fairfield Prep on March 17 with their families and Prep administrators present. Corry Unis, VP for Enrollment Management at Fairfield U., presented the awards.
