Counselor assignments for the 2018-19 year announced; Guidance seminars to start
Dear Parents,
We will be meeting your sons in the first round of Guidance Seminars at the end of this week to begin their guidance activities for the 2018 – 2019 academic year. Our seminars, conducted on days G and H, are designed to meet the needs of each class in promoting their overall development and to support their journey toward college. With our seniors we will be reviewing application construction and filing procedures, focusing on their essay and coordination of support activities. With juniors we will present an overview of the year as an important year for them to position themselves for applying to college. Sophomores will be going through a goal setting activity and continuing to map their development in building their resumes. With our newest students, our freshmen, we will be introducing our seminars and assisting them in working through their transition to Fairfield Prep.
With all students we emphasize personal and academic responsibility, and full involvement in life at Prep. In the weeks and months ahead we will cover a number of essential issues and topics with each class, as appropriate for their stage of development and class year at Prep. All students are aware of how to schedule meetings with their counselor and know that we are available to meet with them individually on days A – F. We will keep parents informed as we progress and welcome your contact.
