Charlie Auray '19 awarded Jacky Durrell Memorial Service Award

For his service to Fairfield Prep and in the local community, and for his leadership in serving others, Charlie Auray '19 was awarded the Jackie Durrell Memorial Service Award and scholarship. Charlie has been a noted leader at Fairfield Prep, having been heavily involved in the Campus Ministry retreat programs. He has led the freshman retreat, sophomore retreat and the Kairos retreat, after having experienced all three himself. Charlie also participated in the Ignatian Teach In for Justice program for the past three years.

"Charlie is much more than a doer," said Dean of Guidance John Hanrahan. "He is a giver and he follows his heart well as one meaningful activity has led to another."

Charlie has also devoted his efforts and energies to local service including his strong contribution to the Salvation Army in their yearly fundraising campaign to assist the needy in our community.

Congratulations to Charlie for his well deserved recognition as he prepares to bring his desire to grow intellectually and in service to Loyola University of Chicago where he will begin studies in the fall.
