SEED students visit colleges and universities
During Spring Break ten SEED students participated in the 4th annual college tour. Students had the opportunity to visit ten colleges and universities during their visit. The schools they visited were Hampton University, Norfolk State University, Shaw University, St. Augustine College, Bowie State University, North Carolina Central University, Morgan State University, Virginia State University, Lincoln University, and Howard University.
In addition to visiting the colleges students had the opportunity to meet Congressman Jim Himes and ask him certain questions that pertain to their issues of interest. After visiting the colleges, students shared that the experience reinforces the reason why they need to work hard and stay diligent in their studies. They all claim that they left the tour with a new appreciation of receiving a good education. They understand that attending a higher education institution allows them to have a limitless future.
