Prepsters build relationships in Ecuador Immersion Trip

Prep students experience Rostro de Cristo in Ecuador

A group of Fairfield Prep students had the privilege of spending April break with the community of Monte Sinai in Guayaquil, Ecuador. Prep partnered with an organization called Rostro de Cristo where year-long volunteers in Ecuador graciously host immersion groups and introduce them to wonderful neighbors in the community as well various organizations that support the community. Prep’s group visited organizations such as Padre Damien House (a home for people living with Hansen’s disease – more commonly known as leprosy) and Refuerzo (an after-school program for children in the community). The group was also warmly welcomed into many homes of families in the area for meaningful conversation about diverse topics. Rostro’s program focuses strongly on building relationships and deepening the faith and commitment to issues of justice of their retreatants, and we believe that their intention was met by many of the students who shared in this immersion experience. Attendees included: Jorge Aguilar '17; Aidan Cahill '18; Michael Cardona '18; Bowen Chen '18; Sean Hurley '18; George Seyfried '18; Jack Solway '18; Ethan Yu '18; Chris Zhang '18; and Dongxu Zhang '18. The trip was led by seniors Patrick Godino and Patrick Guere and accompanied by Ms. Sarah Stanley and Mr. Joe Tremblay.
