Extracurricular Clubs & Activities

Fairfield Prep encourages its students to participate in the various extracurricular activities offered. Extracurricular activities enable a student to discover new talents and make new friends.

Throughout the school year, new extracurriculars are developed and introduced to the student body by students and faculty. Inquiries concerning extracurricular activities should be addressed to Mr. Corey Milazzo.

If you are interested in starting a new club please complete a New Club Proposal and submit it to Mr. Milazzo in B102. New club proposals are accepted during the first weeks of January and May.

Starting a New Club

Virtual Reality Club

In the Virtual Reality Club, students play games on virtual reality headsets.

Squash Club

The Squash Club provides an opportunity for students to learn and experience squash at a casual level.

Hispanic Cultural Club

The Hispanic Cultural Club meets every Monday alongside the Spanish Honor Society to discuss a variety of cultures and traditions in Spanish‐speaking countries.

Chinese Cultural Club

Learn how to play the traditional Chinese and American versions of Mah Jong – a popular Chinese game, learn Mandarin, and enjoy Chinese films and other aspects of Chinese culture.

Dance Club

The Prep Dance Club is for dancers of all backgrounds, from beginners to enthusiasts.

French Cultural Club

The French Cultural Club allows students who are learning or wish to learn about the language, culture, or history of France and other francophone countries the opportunity to do so in an informal manner.

Blues Band

The Blues Band is a non‐auditioned group of musicians that shares a passion for jamming with friends.

Astronomy Club

The astronomy club meets weekly to discuss various bits of astronomical news as well as astrophysical concepts and phenomena.

Art Club

Open to all students who want to create art at their own pace.

Chess Club

Chess players - from beginners to veterans - are welcome to join.

Debate Club

Learn to debate everything from lighthearted issues to more serious topics.

Environmental Club

The Environmental club is dedicated to creating solutions for sustainability problems present in our everyday lives.

Fairfield Connection

The Fairfield Connection Club allows social opportunities to people with Special Needs.

Film & Media Club

The Film Squad is a club that was created to give students the opportunity to make their own videos.

Gaelic Football Club

Fairfield Prep’s Gaelic Football Club is a club sport that competes in Gaelic Football, Ireland’s biggest traditional sport.

Habitat for Humanity

The mission of the Habitat for Humanity Club is to put God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope.

German Exchange Club

The German Exchange Club will cover important items such as the basics of the German language.

Historians Club

The Historians Club is for the student who wishes to engage in history on a level beyond what is taught in the classroom.

This club is open to all students who work on the production of the 208 page yearbook.

Irish Cultural Club

The Irish Cultural Club typically meets to discuss topics related to Irish history, current events and sports.

Italian Cultural Club

The Italian Cultural Club meets once a week to learn about Italian culture through film, food, and phrases.

Jazzuits (Jazz Ensemble)

The Jazzuits year‐round on performing varieties of genres but the majority of music is from the jazz/pop/rock genre.

Music Ministry

Welcome to all musicians who want to perform at school-wide Masses.

Math Team

The Fairfield Prep Math Team competes against twenty‐three other schools in Fairfield County.

Model U.N.

Model United Nations is an academic competition in which students can learn about diplomacy, international relations and issues.

Political Awareness Club

The Political Awareness club is dedicated to furthering an interest in politics, government, and current events.

Philosophy Club/Ethics Bowl Team

The Philosophy Club discusses social justice issues among many other topics pertaining to how we, as human beings, understand the world around us.

Ping Pong Club

Whether you're a beginner or a veteran, come out and and play some ping pong.

Prep Players

The Prep Players is the theater group of Prep, performing a fall play and a spring musical.

Robotics Team

Members work to design, build, and program a robot to compete in the First Tech Challenge competitions.

Ski and Snowboard Club

Students have the opportunity to travel to other countries and the West Coast to enjoy a week away skiing.

Spanish Honor Society

Students meet every Monday after school discussing current events in the Hispanic community on both a domestic and international level.

Student Government guides and coordinates student activities and assists in the proper functioning of the various class governments.

TrigStar

The program acquaints students with the use and practical application of trigonometry in the surveying profession.
