Fairfield Prep falls to ND-Fairfield in Holiday Classic basketball tournament

Fairfield Prep played a strong game against Notre Dame-Fairfield during the final round of the Holiday Classic on Thursday, Dec. 28.
Despite ending the first half with a 32-25 lead, the Jesuits ultimately fell to the Lancers 68-63. Brian Noone '18, the team captain, led Prep in baskets with 20 points, followed by Avery Brown '21 with 19 points. 

“If people see us, our goal is to keep getting better every day and if I were playing us later in the year I wouldn’t want to play us,” Prep basketball coach Leo Redgate told the Connecticut Post.

The Holiday Classic is a two-day basketball tournament pitting the four Fairfield high schools against each other. On Dec. 27, the first night of the tournament, Prep toppled Warde and Notre Dame beat Ludlowe.

Following the game, Notre Dame was awarded medals and the Holiday Classic trophy at Alumni Hall. 

The All-Star team - made up of the top players from each school - was also crowned. The team included the following players: (left to right) Brian Noone '18, Sean Conway, Ty Stapleton, Avery Brown '21, Tyler Bourne and Josh Reaves.
