Prep welcomes new Faculty and Staff

Fairfield Prep is pleased to welcome new faculty and staff members for the 2017-18 school year. We also congratulate some of our staff members who are taking on new roles this year.

Brian Chap – Brian comes to us from Brooklyn Jesuit Prep where he served as principal for the past seven years. He received his BS from the University of Notre Dame and a M.Ed from Loyola University Maryland. Brian will teach Geometry and Algebra II.


Julie Fragnito - Julie comes to us from Xavier High School in New York City where she taught mathematics. She received her BS and MA from Fordham University. Julie will teach Physics at Prep.

Stephen Soto - Stephen most recently served as a substitute teacher at Fairfield Prep in the Science department. He holds a BS from Western New England University. Stephen will teach Biology at Prep.


Li Na Gallinelli – Li Na received her undergraduate degree from Shanghai Foreign Language University. She has taught Chinese at Kyungwon University in Seoul, South Korea and served as a counselor at the Grand Canadian Academy in Nanjing, China. Li Na will be our International Student Advisor as part of the Guidance Department.


Daniel Horstmann – Daniel received his BA from Fairfield University majoring in Communication and Music and minoring in Catholic Studies. Daniel will serve as Admissions Counselor working with Kevin Altieri.


Sean MacKenzie – Sean received his BA in Religious Studies from College of the Holy Cross and his Masters in Counseling from Providence College. He comes to us from Bishop Connolly High School in Fall River where he served as a teacher in the Theology and Social Studies Departments and as a guidance counselor. Sean will teach Theology Levels 1 and III.


Andrew Davenport '08Andrew has worked at Prep since 2015 as an admissions counselor. Starting in 2017 he will be serving as Social Studies teacher. Andrew received his BA from Kenyon College where he majored in English and minored in Art History. Previously he taught at Brooklyn Jesuit Prep.


Mary Wooley – Mary received her BA and M.Ed from Boston College. She has taught at Boston College High School, Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, MA, and most recently at Catholic Academy of Bridgeport. Mary will teach freshman English.


Grace Calderon – Grace has been serving as our operations assistant in the Prep Development Office since January 2017. Prior to that, she held development positions at The Chapin School in New York City and The Potomac School in McLean, VA. Grace is a graduate of the University of Virginia.

Timothy Dee – Longtime Prep mathematics teacher and Department Chair Tim Dee is our new Academic Dean. Dee has been at Prep since 2009 and, in addition to teaching, has coached soccer and basketball. He holds a BA and MA from Fairfield University.
Ronald DeRosa - Ron comes to Prep following a nine-year career in local news, most recently as a web producer for the Hartford Courant and the Hearst Connecticut newspapers. He was previously an editor at AOL Patch Media. Ron is a graduate of St. Michael’s College with a BA in religious studies. Ron is our new Digital Communications Manager.
  Kevin Altieri '00 - Kevin has served as a longtime social studies teacher at Prep, and is now our new Director of Admissions. He has been at Prep since 2004 and, in addition to teaching, has coached hockey and moderated the Media Club. Altieri holds a BS from Marist in criminal justice and an MA in curriculum and instruction from Fairfield University. 
Peter Francini '00 - Peter has served as a counselor at Prep since January 2017, counseling freshmen and sophomores in the A-K alphabetic group. After graduating in 2000, Peter went on to receive a BA in Psychology from St. Anselm College and an MA in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University. He has a professional license in school counseling grades 5-12, and has worked as a school counselor at Lowell Catholic High School and Malden Catholic High School.

Michael Connelly '83 - Mike joins us at Prep following nearly three decades in the business community at Market Data Retrieve - a Dun & Bradstreet Company. Mike focused his career on Sales and Marketing in Relationship Management and his key clients included Scholastic, Pearson, The College Board, as well as a number of philanthropic organizations. He graduated from Villanova University in 1987 with a BS in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing. Mike is our new Leadership Gifts Officer.
