Bobby Haskins '17 is News12 Scholar-Athlete
Fairfield Prep senior Robert "Bobby" Haskins has been named News12 Scholar Athlete for his contributions in the classroom and on the playing field. Haskins is a two sport standout in football and basketball. A four-year member of the football team, Haskins is a two-year starter at tight end and defensive end and was named ALL-SCC this past season at tight end. He led his team with 29 catches for 354 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season. On the basketball court Haskins plays power forward and center, and is also a four-year member and two-year starter for the basketball team which won the SCC title and advanced to the state semi-finals last year. Haskins is known to his coaches and teammates as an experienced leader and great teammate.
On campus, Haskins has maintained a 3.85 GPA, which is a Magna Cum Laude scholar. He has consistently taken the most rigorous and challenging courses offered. Bobby is a member of the National Honor Society, a Peer Tutor, and received the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award at the NHS Honors Ceremony. He gives back by coaching basketball at the Cardinal Shehan Center in Bridgeport. Bobby is vice president of Student Government, and has been elected to lead his peers all four of his years at Fairfield Prep.
