The course selection process for courses for the 2019-20 academic year is underway. Please see this important webpage for a letter outlining the course selection process and the 2019-20 Course Catalog.

 

3rd Quarter Report Cards

The 3rd quarter of the academic year ends Friday, March 29. Report cards will be posted on NetClassroom (accessed through Prep Connect) on Friday, April 5. The viewing window into NetClassroom will be closed from March 29 through April 8.

Enrollment and Re-enrollment

Enrollment and Re-enrollment for the 2019-20 school year will begin mid-April. Further instructions will be coming from the Business Office.

We smashed our goal for FP Giving Day last Friday! Your generosity helped us raise $119,000! That's a 63% increase over our highest previous Giving Day, AND a 149% achievement toward our goal of $80,000!!! We are overwhelmed by your support, and we thank all those who made a gift! Guidance & College Advising

Southern CT College Fair is April 4

Date: Thursday, April 4
Time: 4-8 p.m.

Place: Webster Bank Arena

Over 200 colleges (see list) will be represented! The fair offers a great opportunity to meet college representatives personally. Note: Prep's College Advisors will be on hand at the event. Students are encouraged to wear Prep spirit items showing the Prep logo as college reps know Prep and will welcome you.

Scholarship Opportunities

Many scholarship opportunities are posted in Naviance on our Scholarship List. All needed documents can be arranged with counselors. Seniors should navigate to your Family Connection account in Naviance. Once there, look to the top right and choose Colleges, and then at the bottom of the drop down choose Scholarships and Money.

 

College Admissions Decisions 

By April 1, all colleges will release their admissions decisions. Seniors are asked to inform counselors of their admissions outcomes and to update their Naviance college list. Seniors are advised to maintain good character and to stay strong academically in the 2nd semester. Final transcripts are reviewed closely by colleges. Prep counselors are ready to assist with making final college decisions.

Graduation Tuxedo Fittings for Seniors

On Wed., April 10, Men's Warehouse will be at Prep to fit our soon-to-be graduates for their graduation tuxedos. Reps from Men's Warehouse will be taking measurements between 8 a.m.-12 noon (Periods 1-4). Students will be sent according to a schedule. Reminder: There is no additional cost to families. The tux rental and shoes are included in the Graduation Fee, which is part of tuition.

This Child of Faith: Raising a Spiritual Child in a Secular World

The Prep Community is invited to a discussion by author Sophfronia Scott, who will speak about
her latest book, This Child of Faith, which she
wrote with input from her son, Tain Gregory, who was a third grader at Sandy Hook on the morning of the shooting. It focuses on their growing faith over the years.

Bread of Life Food Drive runs April 1-5

The Bread of Life Drive ("BOLD") is an annual food drive organized by the University of Notre Dame Alumni Club of Fairfield County to benefit organizations that serve the needy. This year the food will go to four locations: Person to Person in Darien, Operation Hope Food Pantry in Fairfield, Prospect House in Bridgeport, and Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County in Stamford. Conner Moore '21 is sponsoring the drive in conjunction with the English department. Sophomores can earn 3 service hours (and a t-shirt) helping Conner on April 6 during the food sorting day at St. Luke's Church in Westport. Summer Immersion Trips

Information Session for Appalachia and Jamaica Immersion Trips

Immersion trips are a wonderful experience for Prep students.

  • Appalachia Trip is only for students in the Class of 2021. Dates are June 14-21, 2019.
  • Jamaica Trip is open to students in the Classes of 2020 and 2021. Dates are July 6-13, 2019.
