Commuting to Prep
Every day our students commute to Prep from over 50 towns via multiple transportation methods.
From Metro-North trains to busses, students from all over Southern CT and beyond access our campus for a transformative Jesuit education.
Fairfield Town Buses
- Town buses are provided for students residing in Fairfield who live more than 1.5 miles from campus. The routes are prepared by the town and will be shared with families as soon as they are available.
- The Fairfield Prep late bus service provides after-school service for students who live in Fairfield only. It runs Monday-Friday at 3:45 p.m. The bus will transport students to their bus stops within the borders of Fairfield.
Metro North Commuters
- Students who live along the Metro-North Train line ride the train to and from Prep daily using the MTA eTix School Commuter Program offering a significant discount on their monthly train pass.
- Shuttle buses begin departing the Fairfield Train Station for Prep begining at 7:30 a.m. and the last bus departs for Prep at 8:25 a.m. Afternoon shuttles depart Prep at 2:45, 3:15, 3:45, 4:30, 5:30 and 5:55. A bus also departs from Barlow Field at 6 p.m. To help defray the cost of the shuttle, an annual fee of $400 is charged to each student.

Prep students may ride the University shuttle to the train, which will run on the hour 7:30-9 p.m. Monday-Friday from the Campus Center. It also runs on weekends from 12-9 p.m. A PAC Card is required for shuttle service. The Dattco buses will be stationed at the traffic circle in front of the Fairfield University Campus Center.
