The World Language classroom provides Fairfield Prep students an opportunity to learn about our place in this inter-connected, ever changing global society.
Our French, Latin, and Spanish classes challenge Prep men to learn not only the language but also history and culture. During every class, Prep students work to develop the four essential language learning skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
Lessons are interactive and engaging so that students continue to develop an understanding of the language and culture. The World Language teachers at Prep create a classroom environment that encourages all students to develop a love of the language.
Whether you take a Latin class to learn the language and history of Ancient Rome, enroll in any level of Spanish to build your proficiency, or discover the francophone world in a French class, Prep’s World Language department offers students a challenging, yet engaging curriculum focused on language acquisition and cultural competency.
Fairfield Prep requires students to complete through the third level of one language. AP level courses are offered in French, Latin, and Spanish for students interested in advanced language studies.
Students are required to complete three years of language through Level 3.
