Physics students master the Index Card Challenge!
In Mr. Mamrus' Physics classes, students had to build a tower out of index cards (no glue, staples, etc.) that was at least 11 inches tall and could support the most weight possible. The grade was determined by the ratio of weight held to cards used. One video is of Peter Blevins '14 whose ratio was 20. His 10 index cards held 200 Newtons (about 45 pounds). The other is of Bryce Keblish '15 and Pat Lambert '15 who had a slightly lower ratio. Watch videos!
