APPLYING FOR TUITION ASSISTANCE - FINANCIAL AID (2014-2015)

BE SURE TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND COMPLY WITH ALL DEADLINES!

General Notes: Please read before filing your application materials.

  • A Student Aid Form (SAF) must be filled out and submitted to Private School Aid Service (PSAS) with the required fee and required supporting documentation. The deadline for submitting the SAF to PSAS is December 15, 2013 for continuing students. You may submit the SAF online or by mail (see below). DO NOT SEND the Student Aid Form to Fairfield Prep. Any SAFs sent to Fairfield Prep will be returned to the applicant's family, delaying processing.

  • IRS form 4506-T must be filled out, signed, dated and submitted to the Dean of Enrollment & Marketing by December 15, 2013. (This form is available on our website; see below.) There is no fee for IRS form 4506-T. When filling out IRS form 4506-T, you will note that certain boxes have already been filled in. Do not change any information that has already been filled in.

DO NOT SEND the IRS form 4506-T to the Internal Revenue Service. DO NOT SEND the IRS form 4506-T to Private School Aid Service. The address to which the IRS form 4506-T should be mailed is

           Dean of Enrollment and Marketing
           Fairfield College Preparatory School

           Fairfield CT 06824

With IRS form 4506-T include a post-it note that indicates your son's name. DO NOT WRITE his name on the form itself.
  • The Financial Aid Committee will adjudicate all requests for financial aid according to (1) its determination of need (using the analysis supplied by PSAS and other relevant factors) and (2) available financial aid funds.

  • Priority in awarding financial aid is given to those applications filed on time; late applications risk a reduced or zero award, regardless of determined need.

  • Applicants for financial aid whose applications are filed on time will receive notification of the Financial Aid Committee's decision by the third week of March 2014.

  • LATE-FILED APPLICATIONS: In general, all available financial aid will be disbursed to qualified applicants whose applications were submitted by the deadline. Late-filed applications for financial aid will be assigned to the financial aid waiting list. If additional funds become available, the Financial Aid Committee will adjudicate late-filed applications.
