JSEA and Prep's Shared MissionJESUIT SECONDARY EDUCATION ASSOCIATION Fairfield Prep is a member of the Jesuit Secondary Education Association (JSEA), the umbrella organization of Jesuit high schools throughout the United States. Although each Jesuit high school is separate and independent of the others, all Jesuit schools share a commonality of history and purpose that is fundamental to their existence and without which they would not be, properly speaking, Jesuit schools. The JSEA runs nationwide conferences in specific discipline areas, as well as a general conference (the Colloquium) held once every three years. Jesuit educators from all over the country gather at these events to share their experiences and to learn from one another. Teachers and administrators from Fairfield Prep actively participate in these and other JSEA-sponsored events. To learn more about the JSEA, visit www.jsea.org. THE GRADUATE OF A JESUIT SCHOOL Jesuit schools express their commality of purpose in many ways. Vital to this expression is the Characteristics of the Graduate at Graduation, a document that sets forth those characteristics that all Jesuit schools agree ideally will be found in the typical graduate of a Jesuit high school. These characteristics are summarized as follows: The graduate of a Jesuit high school will be Open to Growth Intellectually Competent Religious Loving Committed to Justice
