Fr. Shaughnessy, S.J., to Speak at Graduation
Former Prep Theology teacher of 42 years Rev. Martin Shaughnessy, S.J., will be the commencement speaker at this year's Graduation on June 2 at Alumni Hall. Fr. Shaughnessy, S.J. is now the Minister at the Boston College High School Jesuit Community. Fr. Shaughnessy, S.J. will address the members of the Class of 2013 who were his last class at Prep.
Class of 1963 50th Reunion
On the weekend of May 31-June 2, Fairfield Prep enthusiastically welcomes back the Class of 1963 to celebrate their golden reunion! A weekend full of golf, socializing, dinners and educational presentations is planned for the jubilarians. The weekend will culminate Sunday morning with the procession of the Class of 1963 to receive their Golden Diplomas during Fairfield Prep's 71st Commencement exercises. Register online.

Reunion for Classes Ending in 3 & 8 is June 14-15!
Jump start your reunion weekend at Prep's annual Golf Outing on Friday, June 14 at Great River Golf Club in Milford, CT. That night, swing over to the Alumni Jam at Fairfield University's Levee Bar where ALL alumni are invited to enjoy live music, cold drinks, and tasty buffet. On Saturday, June 15 hit a homerun at the Young Alumni Softball Classic featuring games between the 5 vs. 10 and 15 vs. 20 year reunion classes. On Saturday evening, there will be a reunion mass at 5 p.m. at Egan Chapel, Fairfield University. Cocktails and dinner with classmates and Prep faculty will follow at 6 p.m. at the Barone Campus Center. Register online. RSVP by June 7.
Spring Dinner & Auction is a Runaway Winner!
Over 250 guests enjoyed Prep's annual Spring Dinner "And We're Off...to support Fairfield Prep" held on May 4 at the Marriott Stamford Hotel & Spa. Guests watched a live broadcast of the Kentucky Derby, followed by an evening of delicious food, socializing and dancing. Thanks to all who supported the silent and live auctions to raise money to help support tuition assistance, faculty enrichment, student service projects, and athletics. Read more.

Bill Newbauer '85, parent of Liam Newbauer '16, is the winner of the $25,000 Tuition Raffle. The winning ticket was pulled by Fr. Jack Hanwell, S.J., President of Fairfield Prep, at the Spring Dinner & Auction. Congratulations to Bill and his family!
Ryan '82 Speaks at Boston Business Breakfast
Tom Ryan '82, CEO of Integrated Corporate Relations (ICR), spoke at the Boston Business Breakfast at the Boston College Club on April 3. Alumni and guests enjoyed breakfast, networking, and a very powerful account by Tom whose talk gave the inspirational message of being "Men for Others," and sustaining Prep values through the hardest of times. Hanrahan is Ignatian Educator of the Year
John Hanrahan, Dean of Guidance and College Advising, received the third annual Rev. Martin G. Shaughnessy, S.J., Ignatian Educator of the Year Award. John was chosen by his peers for his tireless service to our students, parents and the Prep community and was presented this award at Prep's recent Feast of the Ascension Mass on May 9. Giannini '13 awarded Gates Millennium Scholarship
Mark Giannini '13 has been chosen as a Gates Millennium Scholar (GMS). The Gates Millennium Scholars Program is funded by a $1.6 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Mark is among 1,000 recipients chosen out of 54,000 applicants nationwide. Giannini will receive a good-through-graduation scholarship at any college or university of his choice. He will be attending the University of Notre Dame. Congratulations Mark!
Spring Sports Wrap-Up
Prep spring sports teams are in the midst of winning seasons! The varsity baseball team has their eyes on the playoffs with a 13-6 record. The varsity lacrosse team is 11-3 and trying to defend their 2012 state Class LL state championship trophy. The varsity tennis team is serving aces with a 11-4 record. Christian Alvarado '14 qualified for World Youth Championship Trials in outdoor track. Rugby travels and dominates; Crew and Sailing are having success on the water. Follow all spring sports teams.
